Nässjö. A Thriving Municipality with an Outstanding Business Climate
Nässjö is one of Sweden’s leading logistics hubs, attracting international investments thanks to its prime location. As a railway junction with direct access to the main national railway line and the largest inland port in the Nordics – along with generous availability of industrial land – Nässjö continues to grow within manufacturing, logistics, and talent acquisition.

Nässjö’s Strategic Logistics Location Drives Production and Transport
Nässjö’s competitive logistical position offers manufacturing and logistics companies a strategic base from which to efficiently access the entire Nordic region and beyond into Europe. Proximity to the main railway line, the intermodal terminal, National Road 40, and ample industrial land has made Nässjö an attractive location for companies of all sizes – from various manufacturing sectors to logistics providers.
Nässjö Intermodal Terminal – The Largest Inland Port in the Nordics
Today, the Nässjö Intermodal Terminal is the largest inland port in the Nordic region, with direct rail links westwards to the Port of Gothenburg and mere a 25 minutes drive to access E4. Southwards, the terminal is integrated into the European ScanMed Rail Freight Corridor, with immediate access to the main railway line and further connections to the continent via the Fehmarn Belt. Northwards it provides transports via the main railway line, meeting the needs of expansive industrial projects in northern Sweden. JYSK is one of the major customers who benefits from the different train shuttles to and from the Port of Gothenburg, Duisburg in Germany and Umeå in Northern Sweden. Currently covering 10 hectares, the terminal offers an efficient pit stop with Formula 1-level performance. A dedicated rail track and new signalling system allow for the handling of long trains with direct access to the terminal.
Nässjö – A Growing Centre of Competence and Innovation
Nässjö’s strategic position as a railway hub provides excellent commuting opportunities – regionally, nationally, and internationally. Situated along the main rail line and served by high-speed trains between Stockholm, Malmö and Copenhagen, Nässjö is also connected to several regional lines soon to be served by brand new CAF trains (28 trains, representing an investment of €30 million). The municipality’s favourable transport infrastructure is the result of long-term efforts to make it easier for companies to attract both skilled professionals and customers from other cities and regions. An increasing number of firms are choosing Nässjö for headquarters, R&D, and other key operations – solidifying its role as a centre of excellence.

Nässjö. A Global Meeting Place for People and Ideas.
Nässjö is beautifully situated in the Småland highlands, and the town gives its name to the wider municipality, home to 31,500 residents. A relatively young city, Nässjö began to grow around the newly constructed main railway in the late 19th century. Built at the junction of the national line and several regional railways, Nässjö has always been a vital centre for transport and logistics. Many manufacturing businesses have chosen to set up here thanks to the excellent infrastructure. The municipality is making significant investments to offer an attractive environment for living and working – from rural homesteads to urban housing developments, including both plots for private building and modern rental properties in central or family-friendly areas. New schools, a sports hall with swimming facilities, and an outdoor recreation centre are currently under construction. Nässjö also boasts a charming town centre with excellent services and a range of unique shops. A rich cultural and community life includes strong local sports teams in football, bandy, basketball, and ice hockey.
